Double doubles

Last year I was working on a system. It ended up doing ok but I stopped as I felt the profit was not high enough. In hindsight it was a decent enough return and I started testing it again mid November. So far the starting bank has nearly doubled.

The system involves picking 2 matches and placing 4 doubles. We do not always back the home team but to make the explanation easier we will assume that we do.

We back the home team from match 1 and the home team from match 2, we back the home team from match 1 and the draw from match 2, we back the draw from match 1 and the home team from match 2 and finally the draw for both games.

Eg.

Bet 1 = Home & Home
Bet 2 = Home & Draw
Bet 3 = Draw & Home
Bet 4 = Draw & Draw

We are obviously hoping that the away team does not win in either of the games or we suffer a complete loss. The best scenario is 2 draws and second to that a win and a draw. Both of these scenarios are quite possible as the teams are fairly evenly matched and when it does happen the profits are pretty good.

Here is an example of the profit / loss for one bet @ £10 stakes.

Match 1
Team 1 = 2.50
Draw = 3.45
Team 2 = 3.15

Match 2
Team 1 = 2.50
Draw = 3.45
Team 2 = 3.15

Both teams win = £22.50 profit

Win & draw = £46.25 profit

2 draws = £79.03 profit

If team 2 win = £40 loss


I will only be betting on English / Scottish leagues to begin with, I will list all selections here each week.

We will start with a bank of £200 bank using £10 stakes.

Got these done nice and early as I am on Dad duty with our 4 month old son in the morning.

Plenty of qualifiers this week and a few that were just outside, so I will be keeping an eye on those games too.

Hopefully the bank will be doubled this week.

Technically this isn't the first set of selections I have posted. I have been doing them for some weeks on another betting forum.

This seems to have given it the kiss of death though as I have never had a complete loss week.

I'll be back next week to see if I can get some of the loss back.

After last week, I am a bit down hearted but I will keep going and see if it was just a blip.

We had done well to nearly double the bank in such a short space of time but last week has all but wiped the profit. This is something that I never expected to happen.

An odd number today, so we need to lose one of the teams.

I used to look at the game where the teams were most evenly matched and the draw was least likely. That rules out Crewe.

No doubt I will have made the wrong decision but hey ho.
